I am trying to upload new material to ia331334.us.archive.org, which is shown to be checked out. I have tried both MS Internet Explorer and FileZilla for the ftl client. Neither is working at this time. I get:
"Transfer channel can't be opened. Reason: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond."
With FileZilla.
I get:
"An error occured opening that folder on the FTP Server. Make sure you have permission to access that folder. Details: The operation timed out."
Is there an issue with the FTP server / site?
Thanks in advance,
Robert

Hi,

Hmm... ia331334 is on the warning list, but not critical. I'm not sure exactly what's up with it. I see you've got a couple of other similarly named items checked out on other servers - are you having luck with those?

I am having the same issue with each of the other items. i will check on them later this eve. Is the "Server readonly -- tasks waiting for harddrive fix" that is showing in the legend, a valid issue that would effect the ftp services?
Thanks,
Robert

Oh, wait a sec. Is that an error you're getting in the FTP window? Or is it just that yellow box on the history page that you're seeing?

On the history page, whree the different tasks for your item are logged, if the server is offline (read only) the actual server number will be highlighed in yellow in those rows. (The yellow box in the key at the top always shows up.) They don't appear to be offline to me.

They are, however, all on the warning list - though again I'm not sure what's going on with them. I'll still email ops about it to see what's up, though.

Thanks!

Alexis

Yes, that's absolutely a problem.

When you FTP a file to the server, it gets "written" onto the server. If the server is set to "read" only, you won't be able to write to it. So no uploading.

I'm going to send an email to our ops team to see if they can straighten things out for you, although they're pretty good at getting to things as quickly as possible. There probably won't be any results until tomorrow, though, since it's after 6 p.m. here.

Thanks for letting us know, and keep me posted!

Alexis

Everytime I try to upload I get this error:

553 Prohibited File name

It started as a FLAC file and then I have changed it to a ZIP file.

What do I need to do to upload a concert?

Hi,

You should definitely upload the show as flac files. The etree (live music archive) moderators have rules about what kinds of files they'll accept.

I'm guessing you're getting a "prohibited file name" because your file(s) has spaces or some other disallowed character in it. http://www.archive.org/about/faqs.php#216

If you'd like assistance from the etree folks, there's a forum there that they're more likely to see your post in:
http://www.archive.org/details/etree#forum

Thanks,

Alexis

Thanks so much!
It was the file name that was giving me the problem! :)

I tried to upload to ia310118 since last few days. But unfortunately, it's always showing "make sure you have access to the folder". The password is not wrong.

I like to have advice on how to solve this problem.

Hi, I've uploaded my new file NTek13.mp3 and then I did a checkin but it's in a loop saying

http://www.archive.org/checkin/EnginesUnderUrsus
Not ready yet. Waiting 10 seconds for checkin...

This repeats.

I've checked it in on ia331334.us.archive.org

Please advise. I cannot re-edit either. I'm stuck.
